Hudson Montessori School Announces New Annual Learning Theme at 2022 Kickoff Event

One of the unique components of Hudson Montessori’s curriculum is our year-long study based on an annual theme. Each year, the school focuses on facets of a global theme that students study across the curriculum. This year each class will learn about the historic Trade and Global Trade Routes that helped weave together our global community. This underlying concept will appear in the students’ lessons on math, language, cultural studies, science, art, and more.

On Friday, Oct. 28, parents joined their students in class for fun and informative activities all about the new theme. Each class created vivid displays, projects, and presentations and students were buzzing with excitement to show their parents what they have learned and created so far.

The theme of trade routes is full of learning possibilities for all of our students and we are eager to see what facets inspire them most as they learn the history of the ways trade shapes our lives and the lives of our ancestors from bartering to Wall Street. While each classroom will select an aspect of the theme, our elementary students will focus on unique, individual projects inspired by their interests. These projects will be showcased later on this year at the Annual Social Studies Fair and Year End Celebration.

An archive of our previous learning themes is available on our website.
