2026 Social Studies Fair & Street Carnival

Hudson Montessori School’s 17th annual Social Studies Fair and Street Carnival, featuring the “Tapestry of Cultures,” is a free, museum-style fair open to everyone—children, their parents, and the community. The school-wide theme is carried throughout each of the museum galleries (classrooms), with each classroom focusing on a variation of the theme.
The school fair is an open-house-style event that opens our doors to the entire community. Students’ families are invited to view the transformative exhibits in each classroom, which resemble museum galleries.
Students and teachers have transformed their classrooms, decorating them from floor to ceiling in the “Tapestry of Cultures” theme. Each gallery is a hands-on interactive exhibit. Earlier in the school year, each classroom selected a specialty topic. Here’s the gallery list:
-
Indigenous Peoples
-
Storytelling Across Cultures
-
Mountain Culture
-
Desert Culture
-
Port & Waterways
-
Brazil ~ Colombia
-
Kenya ~ South Africa
-

-

The school also features an art and STEAM showcase in the 50 Regent Building.
The event features an outdoor street carnival, complete with clown entertainers, face painting, balloon art, community tables, and food trucks. Our special museum gallery quest game is open to all and features free giveaways.
We look forward to welcoming food trucks from the Jersey City community and several community organizations, with final commitments now being made.
