Hudson Montessori Staff 2019-2020
Ms. Jolly has her Montessori teaching credential for Early Childhood from American Montessori Society (AMS). She has taught in Jersey City schools for over 15 years and is eligible to teach kindergarten through eighth grade in New Jersey. Ms. Jolly holds an MBA in Finance and a Master’s in Accounting.
Ms. Gina joined Hudson Montessori in 2015 after heading three Montessori schools in Delaware, Ohio and New York over the past 28 years. She has a Master of Instruction, Curriculum Design for Young Children, and earned her Bachelor’s in Education. She has 40 years of experience working in schools. Ms. Gina believes in nurturing strong school communities and will be instrumental in guiding our school’s growth in coming years.
Ms. Susan has a Master of Education and Montessori certification from Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) for Early Childhood and Elementary. Ms. Susan holds the New Jersey alternate route certification for K-6. She has over 42 years of experience in teaching 2½ to 10 year olds in Montessori schools. She completed a course, the Texas Primary Reading Inventory (TPRI), for reading screening. Ms. Susan is in her ninth year with the school.
Ms. Maki has been with Hudson Montessori since the school started in 2009. She worked as an Assistant Teacher in the Toddler and Primary programs before moving to the office in 2011 to manage the daily operations of our school. She has been our Admissions Director for the past 4 years. Ms. Maki holds a BA in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
Ms. Vanessa has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from New Jersey City University and Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Capella University. She has worked in the education field for over ten years. Ms. Vanessa has five years of experience as a teacher as well as an extensive background in office management in a school environment. She has tremendous passion working with children. This is her fourth year at Hudson Montessori School.
Ms. Fumi has been with Hudson Montessori since the school started in 2009. She has her Montessori certification for Infant to Toddler from the American Montessori Society. Ms. Fumi is our lead teacher for the Rosy Red Toddler classroom and has been the Head of the Toddler program for the last seven years. Ms. Fumi holds degrees in English Linguistics and Japanese as a Second Language. She taught Japanese in Germany for five years.
Ms. Eden holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. She has been a teacher in preschool through high school in the Philippines, teaching English, Christian Education and Home Economics for over five years. She obtained training from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on Child Development and Dealing with Children and Youth at Risk. She has been working with children and families for the past 25 years. Her expertise is in program development and implementation. This is her fifth year at Hudson Montessori.
Ms. Marlene has a Bachelor of Science in Management in Business Fundamentals and is currently attending the University of Phoenix and is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Psychology. She has over seven years of experience providing instructional support to children in and out of the classroom and has been an ABA Assistant. Her educational beliefs led her to become an assistant teacher at Hudson Montessori School where she will be able to foster children’s independence.
Bridge Primary Program
Ms. Cheyla is a graduate of New Jersey City University, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She has over seven years of teaching experience working with young children ranging from the age of 2 months to 6 years. Ms. Cheyla is fluent in Spanish and has a passion for teaching creatively through arts and technology. She is in the process of completing her Montessori credential, having finished all of the coursework and internship.
Ms. Ana will receive her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from New Jersey City University this December. She has worked with children ranging from toddler to Kindergarten for over four years. She has experience as both an assistant and lead teacher in a classroom. Her ultimate goal is to continue her studies and obtain her Master’s degree in Social Work to further aid children and families. Ms. Ana is beginning her Montessori Teacher Training this year. This will be her second year at Hudson Montessori School.
Ms. Caridad graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in English Literature and minors in Italian Literature and Human Resources Management. She studied abroad in Italy for a year. She is completing her Montessori Certification (AMS) in Early Childhood from Princeton Center for Teachers Education (PCTE). Her passion for the field of education brought her to Hudson Montessori School, where she will be starting her sixth year.
Ms. Denise graduated Suma Cum Laude from Caldwell University with a B.A. in Psychology. She obtained her International Montessori Teaching Diploma for children 3 – 6 years old from North American Montessori Center. Ms. Denise has been a loving, caring and passionate Montessori directress for more than 20 years, out of which four years have been at Hudson Montessori School. Ms. Denise is excited to rejoin the Hudson Montessori family.
Ms. Eleena holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, as well as her American Montessori Society credentials for ages three to six. She is just completing her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Grand Canyon University. Ms. Eleena has more than five years of teaching experience. Her love for Montessori lies in the philosophy of Grace and Courtesy and she hopes to bring that love to the students and faculty of Hudson Montessori.
Ms. Mareme has a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education with a concentration in Early Childhood from Saint Peter’s University. She worked for a private school in Jersey City for two years as an Assistant Teacher in a preschool program. Ms. Mareme is bilingual, speaking French and English fluently. Ms. Mareme has obtained her Montessori Certification (AMS) in Early Childhood from the Montessori Center for Teacher Development (MCTD). This is her third year at Hudson Montessori.
Ms. Nancy holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and is a few credits short of her Master’s in Early Childhood Education. She received her Montessori Certification (AMS) in Early Childhood from Princeton Center for Teacher Education (PCTE) and has been teaching in Montessori schools for the past 12 years. She has been a field consultant for West Side Montessori School for the past 4 years and has been a Master Teacher to interns from Princeton Center for Teacher Education and West Side Montessori School for the past 5 years. Additionally, she is a certified Yoga teacher. She has been with
us for the last 8 years.
Ms. Nivedita holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Mumbai, India. She has received her Montessori Certification (AMS) from West Side Montessori in New York. Ms. Nivedita has worked in our Montessori Primary program for eight years. She is passionate about working with the children in her classroom.
Ms. Samira holds a Bachelor’s degree in English. She is in the process of completing her Montessori credential, having finished all of the coursework and internship. She has worked with children from preschool through middle school for 8 years as a lead teacher. Samira believes in the importance of being actively engaged with the children in both large and small groups. This is her fifth year at Hudson Montessori School.
Ms. Yuliya has her Bachelor’s degree from Moscow State Linguistic University in Russia. She holds an AMI certification from The Montessori Training Center of Saint Louis, Missouri.
Ms. Yuliya previously worked as a Montessori teacher in schools in Brooklyn, New York and Warsaw, Poland. She also has worked in the corporate sector in Moscow. She is fluent in English and Russian, and conversational in Polish. Ms. Yuliya has 10 years of teaching experience. She has been with us for 6 years.
Ms. Sadaf has been working in the Montessori environment with 2 to 5 year olds for six years. She earned her Early Childhood certification from Princeton Centre of Teachers Education. Ms. Sadaf holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from North South University in Dhaka, Bangladesh and, as part of her undergraduate study, completed one semester at the National University of Singapore. She is thrilled to join the Hudson Montessori family.
Lower Elementary Program
Ms. Adinah graduated cum laude from Stony Brook University with a BA in Political Science and Public Policy. She was the social media director during a political campaign as an intern with a Philippine-American organization. Ms. Adinah is also a singer who has taught voice lessons to children in New York City. She completed her training for her AMS certification for Lower Elementary at Princeton Center for Teachers Education (PCTE) and is a National STEM certified teacher. This is her fifth year at Hudson Montessori.
Ms. Dayelin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Special Education. She has her Lower Elementary Montessori Credential from WSMS – TEP, New York. Ms. Dayelin has more than 15 years of experience working with children of various ages and in countries ranging from Canada, Cuba, The Bahamas, Turkey, and the United States. She has been in the Montessori classroom for the past four years. Ms. Dayelin is eager to meet each child where they are and nurture their academic and social growth. She is excited to join the Hudson Montessori School family.
Ms. Gina A. has a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art in Graphic Design from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She is in the process of completing her Montessori credential, having finished all of the coursework and internship. Ms. Gina has been a Montessori Lower Elementary lead teacher for the past 7 years. She also worked for 3 years in an Upper Elementary program. Ms. Gina began her primary education as a Montessori student herself and is excited to be a co-teacher in one of our Lower Elementary classrooms for the third year.
Ms. Shannon earned her Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education through a scholarship to Hudson County Community College. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree at New Jersey City University, double-majoring in Early Childhood Education and Women’s and Gender Studies. Ms. Shannon has completed her training for her AMS certification for Lower Elementary at Princeton Center for Teacher Education (PCTE) and is a National STEM certified teacher. This is her sixth year in our Lower Elementary Program.
Ms. Susan (also the Education Director) has a Master of Education and Montessori certification from Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) for Early Childhood and Elementary. Ms. Vidya holds a Masters in Modern Language and Literature (English) from India and worked as a copy editor for four years. During this period, she worked on scientific, technical and medical journals published by Elsevier in both the US and UK. Ms. Vidya was drawn to Montessori method of education when her son started his education at a Montessori school in India. Convinced that this method of education can make a positive and lasting change in younger minds, she joined Princeton Center for Teacher Training and is certified at lower elementary level. After training, she joined Hudson Montessori School as a lower elementary teacher. She is excited to be part of the Hudson Montessori School family for her third year.
Ms. Tayyaba holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from University of Gujrat in Pakistan and received an internship through IES – Pakistan. She believes in the Montessori Method of Education and is delighted to have the opportunity to help guide and develop young minds. This is her first year at Hudson Montessori.
Upper Elementary Program
Ms. Grace K. received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Seton Hall University. She has been part of the Montessori community for 15 years, first as a parent, and then teaching, assisting, and consulting with Montessori schools for 13 years. Ms. Grace earned her Lower Elementary Montessori certification (AMS) from Princeton Center for Teacher Education, is completing her Upper Elementary training at Westside Montessori Teacher Education and is a National STEM certified teacher. Her passion is creating successful academic experiences for her students. She is returning for her third year at Hudson Montessori in our Upper Elementary Program.
Ms. Stacey graduated from American University with a BA in Art History and a minor in Fine Arts. She has been teaching for more than 15 years. Her teaching experience has been in both public and private school settings where she has worked with various ages in traditional education as well as in Montessori. Ms. Stacey has Montessori certifications from Princeton Center for Teacher Education and Delaware Institute for Montessori Education for ages 3-12. She is a Field Consultant for the PCTE training program and holds the New Jersey Alternate Route Certification K-6. She has been trained in the Model United Nations Program for children. This is her sixth year at Hudson Montessori School.
Ms. Sarah graduated from the Lebanese University in Beirut with a B.A. and an M.A. in Archaeology and Art History. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Anthropology at the Graduate Center, the City University of New York. She has organized several archaeology workshops for children, field trips, as well as archaeology field schools. She is passionate about sharing our diverse cultural heritage with children she teaches in art.
Ms. Emma is originally from Sweden. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education in Music from Lulea University in Sweden and a Master’s Degree in Jazz Studies from Sibelius Academy in Finland. Ms. Emma has been teaching at the Piano School of New York for seven years and is also working as a jazz singer around the city. She is looking forward to working with Hudson Montessori School this coming school year.
Tennis (ages 6 and up)
Mr. Jim is a certified PTR (Professional Tennis Registry) Instructor, ICI Certified Coach, and USTA rated 4.5/5.0 player, who has been involved in the tennis world for over 20 years. Educated in a variety of teaching methods both modern and traditional, Mr. Jim brings the experience to provide a singular teaching style that helps students learn and improve as quickly as possible. Mr. Jim has the knowledge and experience to create a lifelong love for tennis in our children.
Mr. Isaiah is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from New Jersey City University. He has over 4 years of experience working with children and families. He was a Gym Coordinator and Assistant Supervisor at the Boys & Girls Club. This is his second year at Hudson Montessori School.
Mr. Jim, who has an Etcheberry Certification for strength conditioning and movement, and who has been a USPTR (Professional Tennis Registry) instructor since 2003, will be holding PE classes for our Bridge Primary and Primary children. His years of experience, including five as an elementary school teacher, will help our children stay healthy and fit, especially during the winter months when outdoor activities are limited.
Nurse Lauren is a graduate from Christ Hospital School of Nursing. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from New Jersey City University. She has provided skilled nursing care for pediatric patients in the community and for children with special needs in the school setting. Nurse Lauren is passionate about nursing and working with children. This is Nurse Lauren’s first year at Hudson Montessori School.
Ms. Armani supervises Early Morning Care.
Ms. Armani is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in History and Education at Montclair State University. She has over 2 years of experience working with children. Her passion for teaching has led her to Hudson Montessori School and she is excited to be joining us as an assistant teacher.
After Care Staff
Ms. Elaine and Mr. Isaiah supervise After Care Program.
Ms. Danuta works in the After Care Program at Hudson Montessori. She is bi-lingual in English and Polish and has been working with young children for the last nine years. This is
Ms. Danuta’s eighth year at Hudson Montessori School.
