Hudson Montessori School offers three summer camp options based on age-level, from age 2 to 6th grade. Here’s some more information about the Elementary Maker’s Camp for children entering first through sixth grade.
Experience a summer full of creativity, self-expression, and challenge-based projects at Hudson Montessori School’s Elementary Maker’s Camp as we spend the summer creating and playing a variety of games and brainy challenges!
Our Elementary camp curriculum is STEAM-powered. Every activity is infused with science, technology, engineering, arts, and math to help fuel each child’s drive to create. Every week, your camper will be fully engaged with hands-on projects and daily swimming. Your child will experience a number of activities including chess, tennis, 3-D printing, computer programming, photography, art, woodworking, cooking, and more. Field trips are scheduled each Friday to exciting places like the Liberty Science Center, escape rooms, and even Legoland!
Full and extended day options are available to suit your family’s needs. This summer, choose from one, two, or all three options:
The Olympics (June 21 through July 9)
Your child will learn what it means to be “Swifter, Higher, Stronger,” at Hudson Montessori School’s very own Olympic Games! Complete with an opening ceremony, physical and mental exercises, and students representing various countries, it will be as if your children are Olympians at the 2021 Tokyo games. Our Olympians will learn about the games and the technology behind the sports they see on TV.
Games, Games, Games (July 12 through July 30)
We already know that children love board games, video games, and tabletop games, but this summer your child will also create their own. Your creative camper will learn more about the mechanics behind some of their favorite games, strategy, and game design and have tons of fun while doing it!
Escape Room (August 2 through August 13)
There’s nothing like a challenge to grease the wheels of ingenuity. We’ll encourage your child to use all their senses, when working with fellow masterminds to build an epic escape room! Campers will sharpen their problem-solving skills, strengthen their imagination by creating mazes, and build their confidence by successfully escaping the sticky situations they devise.
We will continue the COVID-19 procedures that have kept our staff and students safe and in-person throughout the 2020-2021 school year. All campers will be masked, socially distanced, and following the CDC’s current COVID-19 guidelines.
