Hour of Code 2020 Begins Tomorrow!

Hudson Montessori School’s 2020 Hour of Code event is almost here! Students are finalizing their presentations for the three-night virtual event from this Wednesday through Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. (December 9 through December 11, 2020).

Coding and computational thinking are integral parts of Hudson Montessori School’s yearlong curriculum. Hour of Code encourages students to refine and share what they’ve learned in the last year.

Each night will begin with a dancing, acting, or drawing exercise, leading to students giving a presentation and participating in a coding activity. The event will close with computer science trivia.

Students in kindergarten through sixth grade will present projects. The fourth, fifth, and sixth grade presentations will follow the 2020 Computer Science Education Week theme of social justice, particularly LGBTQ+ rights, health equity, women’s equality, and racial discrimination.

While we will miss our in-person Hour of Code event, our students are eager for this year’s virtual adaptation that is sure to yield three nights of educational fun!
