Hudson Montessori School is proud to once again partner with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to raise money to fight blood cancer in children, some the same age as our students.
Kerry Richardson, a campaign manager from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, met with the Lower and Upper Elementary classes during the first week of February to discuss the new Hero Squad fundraising campaign.
Richardson spoke about the composition of blood, how cancer cells impact a patient’s blood, and how expensive the cost of cancer treatments can be. She explained how the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has been able to aid in funding medical breakthroughs like CAR-T cell therapy and others.
This year’s School Maker Faire is also spanning the month of February. Partnering with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is one way our elementary students have embraced making a difference in our community during this month.
Each elementary student has developed their own online fundraising page for this worthy cause. Parents are encouraged to share their child’s donation information through their email and social media channels.
Please support our students' efforts to help fight leukemia and lymphoma as they continue to collect donations through February 26.
