Each year, our Theme Kickoff Event, held with students and parents in their respective classrooms, marks the beginning of our deep exploration into a schoolwide, yearlong theme that guides learning across all programs. This year’s theme, Tapestry of Cultures, invites students to explore how people, traditions, and histories are beautifully woven together across the world.Â
Making Connections Worldwide (and Schoolwide)
The theme connects classrooms and culminates in our much-anticipated schoolwide Social Studies Fair in the spring and the Year End Celebration in June.Â
Toddlers & Bridge Primary (2s & 3s): Our youngest learners in the Toddler and Bridge programs will journey through the Caribbean and the Polynesian Islands.Â
Primary (3s-Kinders):Â Primary students will compare and contrast two culturally distinct nations on one continent, identifying commonalities that unite them.Â
Lower Elementary: First- to third-grade students will trace the evolution of civilizations shaped by their geography—whether by water, mountains, or deserts.Â
Upper Elementary: Fourth and fifth-grade students will study storytelling as a timeless culturalÂ
Middle School:Â Sixth- to eighth-graders will focus on Indigenous Peoples whose traditions and knowledge continue to shape our world today.
We are excited for a year filled with curiosity, connection, and cultural discovery. Thank you to all who joined us for the Kickoff and for being part of our school’s vibrant tapestry of learning.
