Hudson Montessori Volunteers Announces “The Lorax” as Their Annual Play

Today, in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday and Read Across America, the Hudson Montessori Volunteers (our school's parent group) begins casting parent volunteers for HMV Presents "The Lorax," Dr. Seuss' story about protecting nature. This compelling story also fits in well with the school’s annual theme this year, the Power of Nature! Rehearsals begin in two weeks.

“The Lorax” performance will be on Earth Day on Friday, April 22, 2022. It will be performed for all Hudson Montessori students—toddlers to upper elementary.

It is tradition for the HMV parents to put on at least one play each year, and Hudson Montessori’s students always look forward to this annual event. The HMV has never missed a year! Past performances have included “The Great Race,” and “Stone Soup.”

The Hudson Montessori Volunteers is an active organization of parents uniquely designed to accommodate all levels of participation by our parents in the school’s activities. When children observe their parents getting involved in school and being part of a team, they learn how important their schooling is to the family while learning about the importance of volunteerism.

The HMV hosts teacher appreciation events and coordinates gifts for the teachers during the holidays, Teacher Appreciation Day, and the end of the school year. They assist the school by co-hosting donation drives for people in need, supporting the school in academic and artistic endeavors, such as the book fair and parent play, and producing its annual yearbook, which is distributed to every enrolled student and our teachers.
