We are excited to send our student delegation to Manhattan this week to the Montessori Model United Nations (MMUN), one of the most valuable and enriching programs for our Upper Elementary students. Each student has prepared for the upcoming conference since the school year began in September. Our student delegation of Upper Elementary and Middle Schoolers (4th through 7th grades) is putting the finishing touches on their presentations and are excited for the start of the conference on February 15.
Our delegation of students will be staying in Manhattan for four days, along with other Montessori students who come from around the world to act as delegates for a nation. Through role-playing, each student works as a citizen of their assigned country, writing proposals, presenting them, and debating issues facing the global community. The goal is for each student to learn about world issues and solve problems through cooperation and diplomacy.
