Through this Teacher Insight series, we are proud to highlight the talented individuals whose contributions make Hudson Montessori a place where children truly thrive. Meet Ms. Samira, a lead teacher in our Primary Program (ages 3 to 6).
Ms. Samira’s love of working with children drives her teaching. She actively follows each child’s learning journey, designing opportunities for exploration and discovery, while honoring each student’s unique strengths, interests, and challenging them to go beyond. She believes that balancing effort with joy helps students stay motivated, grow, and truly appreciate the journey.
Ms. Samira’s Experience & Qualifications
Ms. Samira has guided students in our Primary program for 10 years, since September 2015. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Montessori Certificate for the Primary level. She draws inspiration from Dr. Maria Montessori by fostering independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning in her students. She delights in seeing children thrive in an environment where they participate actively in their education.
Why Does She Choose Hudson Montessori School as a Teacher?
She identifies Hudson Montessori’s greatest strengths as its diverse, inclusive community and its emphasis on fostering a global perspective. By embracing different cultures and experiences, students cultivate empathy, curiosity, and respect for the world around them. She appreciates how our school encourages students to think critically, explore new ideas, and engage meaningfully with the world. This combination nurtures independence, creativity, and a deep love for lifelong learning, strengthening the children’s academic growth and their development into responsible, open-minded citizens of the future.
Ms. Samira’s Personal Life
Outside the classroom, Samira is a mother and enjoys spending time with family and friends, cherishing both adventurous trips and simple everyday moments together. Her favorite childhood book, “The Colors of Us” by Karen Katz, continues to inspire her teaching. The story celebrates diversity, highlights the beauty of differences, and fosters acceptance. She guides her students with a simple but powerful piece of advice:
“Work hard and play harder.”
Hudson Montessori School, located in downtown Jersey City, serves children aged 2 to 8th grade. Our teachers use an interdisciplinary, theme-based learning approach to education, grounded in the Montessori philosophy and methodology, to foster a love of learning in its students. Its STEM-certified campus is the only one of its kind in New Jersey, featuring STEM-certified teachers who meet the highest standards set by the National Institute for STEM Education. The school invites parents to attend an open house to learn more about its programs.
Excited to see the Teacher Insight Series featuring Samira Brito! It’s always inspiring to learn from dedicated educators and hear their unique perspectives on teaching and learning. Official Pepenode token
