Hudson Montessori has plenty to be thankful for as we enter the Thanksgiving season. At the top of that list is our healthy and vibrant community of staff, students, and families who bring warmth, curiosity, and joy to our school each day.
This November, we are excited to launch a special school-wide reflection initiative that invites our students to look inward, celebrate who they are, and share what matters most to them.
This year, our students—from our youngest 2-year-olds to senior Middle Schoolers—connect directly to our school-wide theme, Tapestry of Cultures.
Throughout the month, students are encouraged to consider:
“What from your family’s culture or heritage are you thankful for?”
It may be a beloved tradition passed down through generations, a celebration they look forward to each year, a favorite food that reminds them of home, a language spoken with grandparents, or the clothing, music, and customs that make their family unique. We have already begun to receive some responses, for example, “I am thankful for my Korean dress (hanbok) and Korean food, like kimchi, miyukook, and ramen,” said Dayoon, age 6.
Submissions are open now through Sunday, November 30, 2025. Together, we celebrate gratitude, identity, and the cultural threads that unite us all.
Hudson Montessori School, located in downtown Jersey City, serves children aged 2 to 8th grade. The teachers use an interdisciplinary, theme-based learning approach grounded in the Montessori philosophy and methodology to foster a love of learning in their students. Its STEM-certified campus is the only one of its kind in New Jersey, featuring STEM-certified teachers who meet the highest standards set by the National Institute for STEM Education. The school welcomes parents to attend an open house to learn more about the school’s programs.
