Field trips are an essential extension of classroom learning that give students from our youngest preschoolers to middle schoolers opportunities to connect their lessons with the broader world. These shared experiences enrich their learning, deepen curiosity, and help students see that knowledge comes alive far beyond the four walls of a classroom.
This December, our Primary classes visited the New Jersey Performing Arts Center to enjoy “Billy Goats Gruff & Other Tales.” Storytelling through live theater offers children a magical way to engage with language, music, character, and emotion, building early literacy and encouraging imagination.
Our Lower and Upper Elementary classes continued the school’s seasonal tradition of attending a festive interpretation of “The Nutcracker” at the Nimbus Arts Center. Experiencing this classic ballet as a group helps students appreciate dance, narrative, and the power of the arts while also strengthening classroom community.
These field trips are more than special outings. They are meaningful experiences that broaden perspectives, strengthen connections, and remind students that discovery happens everywhere. Each year, we look forward to the wonder, excitement, and inspiration these trips bring to our school community.
Hudson Montessori School, located in downtown Jersey City, serves children aged 2 to 8th grade. The teachers use an interdisciplinary, theme-based learning approach grounded in the Montessori philosophy and methodology to foster a love of learning in their students. Its STEM-certified campus is the only one of its kind in New Jersey, featuring STEM-certified teachers who meet the highest standards set by the National Institute for STEM Education. The school welcomes parents to attend an open house to learn more about the school's programs.
