A Summer of Discovery, Creativity, and Fun Continues Across All Our Camps

Session 2 is off to a fantastic start, featuring new themes, fresh faces, and plenty of hands-on fun. Our campers have jumped right into exciting adventures filled with creativity, exploration, and joyful summer memories.

Toddler Camp

We continued our Wild Wonders Safari adventure with an exciting week full of fun in the sun! Campers learned about safari animals, including their looks, sounds, and survival skills, and brought their knowledge to life through vibrant art projects. Children spent time outside each day enjoying splash pad fun, sandpit adventures, or creating colorful chalk designs. In music, they stomped and moved like elephants to Camille Saint-Saëns' playful piece “The Elephant,” while in Spanish, we learned shape names, reviewed primary colors, and danced our way through a lively game of freeze dance.

Preschool and Kindergarten Camp

Campers explored different types of land vehicles—cars, buses, trains, and bicycles—through hands-on sorting and fine motor activities, such as cutting and pasting. Students read "Transportation" by Gail Gibbons and had fun creating personalized driver's licenses and license plates. In art, children explored color theory through a creative vehicle-themed activity as they learned the difference between warm and cool tones. In the last session, we focused on water transportation, and now we’re exploring everything land-based, from sedans and emergency vehicles to public transit and big trucks.

Elementary Camp

Campers had an exciting week exploring how stars form and evolve. Our students learned how telescopes, such as the Rubin Observatory, capture images of space and explored vocabulary terms like hydrogen and supernovae. Our art projects were inspired by the interstellar clouds observed by the James Webb Telescope. Campers reviewed density for a STEAM liquid art project resembling nebulas and created clay magnets using the engineering design process. We also learned about Michael Faraday and Earth's magnetic field, built Lego exoplanets and nebulas, and tested our science knowledge on the periodic table.

In Spanish, we explored vocabulary related to space, and in music, we listened to “Clair de Lune” and wrote lyrics inspired by the moon. Children enjoyed space-themed books in the library, sharpened their chess skills, and stayed active with basketball and rooftop swimming. We concluded the first week of Session 2 with an exciting field trip, where we tested water quality and learned about the Hudson River's ecosystem. This week’s field trip goes to Liberty Science Center!

Session 3 Coming Soon: July 28- August 8

There’s still time left to enroll for a few remaining spots in the two-week Session 3 starting on July 28. The session is chock-full of new and exciting themes. Sign up today for one of these Session 3 camps:

  • Toddler and Bridge Primary: From trains and planes to boats and bikes, campers will explore how people and animals travel by land, air, and sea. They'll discover different modes of transportation, both in their neighborhood and around the world. They will explore various ways we move from one place to another through hands-on crafts and engaging lessons that encourage socialization, language development, and the development of fine and gross motor skills. Their day includes visits to the playground, water play, and gardening activities.

  • Preschool and Kindergarteners: Kites, balloons, blimps, drones, and planes—how do they soar through the sky? Children will explore the science of flight, discovering how objects lift off and stay airborne. From the Montgolfier brothers to Count von Zeppelin, they'll learn about the pioneers of aviation and their sky-high adventures. Campers will build flying machines and see just how far they can go! A typical day includes playing in the splash pad, visiting the park or playground, gardening, practicing yoga, music classes, and taking Spanish lessons.

  • Elementary: Blast off into an action-packed two-week adventure where kids train like real astronauts! Through obstacle courses, space science experiments, and teamwork challenges, campers will develop agility, problem-solving skills, and a deeper understanding of space science. Packed with exciting activities such as swimming, weekly field trips, coding, basketball, chess, music, Spanish, and art, our STEAM campers stay fully engaged and energized while at camp.
