The beginning of a new school year at Hudson Montessori School is always filled with energy, anticipation, and excitement for our school community reuniting. From the first cheerful greetings at morning drop-off to the buzz of classrooms settling into their routines, these first weeks set the tone for a year of growth and discovery. Each year, we set aside time for our families to reconnect at events such as Back-to-School classroom meetups with teachers, the Parent Welcome Breakfast, and a week-long orientation for new parents at our local coffee shop. Next month, we look forward to meeting with our parents again for two other school-wide meetings.
Back to School Events
One of the highlights of September is our series of Back-to-School classroom meetups, where families from every grade level, from Toddler through Middle School, gather to learn more about the exciting journey their children will embark on this year. These evenings provide parents with a deeper understanding of the curriculum, daily schedules, and special classes that make Hudson Montessori such an enriching experience. Just as importantly, they create a space for parents and teachers to connect and strengthen the partnership that supports each child’s learning.

Parent Welcome Breakfast
Our recent annual Parent Welcome Breakfast is a tradition that celebrates both new and returning families. While students settled into their classrooms, parents enjoyed coffee, conversation, and the chance to build connections with one another. Some parents reunited with familiar friends after the summer break, while others began new friendships that will grow throughout the year. None of it would have been possible without the support of our dedicated Hudson Montessori Parent Volunteers, who helped make the morning both warm and memorable.

Brewshot Meetup for New Parents
For families new to Hudson Montessori, our Hudson Montessori Volunteers hosted morning meetups at Brewshot Coffee Shop. These gatherings provided parents and caregivers with a space to connect while their children began the exciting process of transitioning into their new classrooms. Teachers and administrators visited Brewshot to share updates on how students were settling in, and HMV parents were on hand throughout the week to answer questions and offer guidance. These special meet-ups not only provided reassurance but also marked the start of the normalization process for our newest students and families.

Coming in October
Our next two schoolwide meetings are our Montessori Journey evening meeting for parents, showing parents how our students learn using Montessori materials, and our theme kickoff event—the unveiling of our school’s yearlong theme for the entire school. We look forward to reconnecting with our parents at these events and others throughout the year. Our open line of communication with our parents and connecting home with school continues to be the best way for our children to have a successful school year.
