Hudson Montessori School's annual Maker Faire is just around the corner! On Saturday, January 25, our talented "Makers" will showcase various exciting projects. Students from Kindergarten to Middle School and their families are invited to join us and explore immersive experiential rooms, each dedicated to different projects.
Hudson Montessori is the only New Jersey school hosting a School Maker Faire. The Maker Faire, started by Make Magazine in 2006, is an internationally recognized convention of do-it-yourself makers who show cutting-edge breakthroughs in robotics, 3D printing, computers, arts and crafts, and programming. For nearly 10 years, we have supported our school community of makers, and our students and families look forward to this event all year!
The Maker Movement is a global phenomenon that fosters creativity, innovation, and the spirit of making. Maker Faires inspire communities worldwide to create, tinker, and invent. Makers take old inventions and technology, reimagine them, and create something new. The emphasis is on the journey—dreaming up ideas, creating, facing setbacks, and persevering until they produce something they're proud of. This year, our school-wide theme embraces “Innovation,” and our Maker Faire is an excellent way to demonstrate our young makers' fantastic work!
Since 2019, Hudson Montessori School has been the first nationally certified STEM elementary school by the National Institute for STEM Education. As a STEAM-based school, we infuse our entire curriculum with science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math. We encourage our children to get excited by these topics and share their passions with others.
