Hudson Montessori School partners with local organizations every holiday season to give back to families who need food support.. This year, we are supporting the St. Matthews Lutheran Church Food Pantry and the 500 Jersey City families who use the pantry as a food lifeline each week.
Each classroom is collecting specific food items from December 1 until December 14, including canned goods, pasta, and rice.
Our school is taking inspiration from the Brookfield Place “Canstruction” event as we encourage our students, from toddlers to Middle School, to build structures with donated goods in their classrooms.
The Montessori Peace Education curriculum teaches our students what it means to be a good citizen and how important it is for our communities to take care of each other. We are excited to teach students through their donations and “canstructions” that, quite simply, giving is beautiful!
