Congratulations to rising 7th-grader Derin Tuncer on his great success at the National History and Geography Bee. He recently competed in the North Jersey Regional History Bee and earned third place. His choice of shirt for the day—Veni Vidi Stridi (“I came, I saw, I buzzed”)—couldn’t have been more appropriate. Competitors had to think and buzz in before their opponents, leaving the audience on the edge of their seats.
Derin moved through three elimination rounds of 30 questions each, followed by a final round to determine the top three finishers. Derin also had an outstanding showing at the Regional Geography Bee, securing 5th Place as a finalist. Thanks to these strong performances, Derin has qualified for the second year in a row to represent our school in national and international competitions.
