Hudson Montessori School Kicks Off Annual Spirit Week and Danceathon Fundraiser

Our annual School Spirit Week and Danceathon is just one of the exciting ways our students and parents creatively express their love for the Hudson Montessori School community. The week before Spring Break is always highly anticipated as students swap uniforms for creative costumes and celebrate unique dress-up days. Throughout the week, students and staff will fill our hallways with their unique creations as we celebrate school spirit, culminating in our Danceathon fundraiser.

The week will focus on fun, community building, and school spirit. Hudson Montessori School is grateful for the continued support and generosity of our teachers, students, families, community, and school leadership team. Here’s a preview of all the fun events:

Monday: Crazy Hair, Hats, Idioms, and Pajamas

Spirit Week will kick off with a variety of themes across the school.

  • Toddler, Bridge, and Primary students will arrive with imaginative styles for Crazy Hair and Hats Day, showing off colorful hairstyles, fun accessories, and creative headwear.

  • Lower Elementary and Upper Elementary students will celebrate Idioms Day, dressing as visual interpretations of fun idioms and phrases. From “raining cats and dogs” to a “piece of cake,” students will bring these expressions to life in inventive ways.

  • Middle School students will enjoy Pajama Day, coming to school in their coziest pajamas for a comfortable, relaxed start to Spirit Week.

Tuesday: Book Characters and Decades

Tuesday will highlight throwbacks and storytelling.

  • Toddler, Bridge, Primary & Lower Elementary, and Upper Elementary students will dress as their favorite book characters, filling the school with beloved figures from classic and contemporary stories.

  • Middle School students will travel through time on Decades Day, dressing as people from different historical eras. From the Roaring 20s to the colorful styles of the 70s and 90s, students will represent a wide range of decades.

Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday

Wednesday will be all about creativity with Mismatched, Mix-It-Up, and Wacky Wednesday. Students across the entire school will embrace the theme by wearing mismatched clothes, bright colors, inside-out outfits, and unusual combinations.

Thursday: Danceathon

Spirit Week will conclude with the highlight of the event: Danceathon. Students will come dressed in sports attire and athletic gear, ready to move and celebrate together. During Danceathon, students will dance and dance along with instructors who will lead energetic routines.

The Danceathon is a fun-filled fundraiser organized by the school’s parent organization, the Hudson Montessori Volunteers (HMV). The HMV has set a $15,000 goal to purchase enrichment supplies for classrooms serving students of all ages. A portion of the funds raised by each classroom is also returned directly to that teacher to support their individual classroom needs.

The HMV encourages parents to support their child’s classroom and the school community by sponsoring their child(ren). You can donate to the school in general, or search for your specific student. Here’s the link to donate: https://app.99pledges.com/fund/danceathon2026?home_v2=true

Every student will participate in the dancing fun on Thursday and will enjoy the excitement of School Spirit Week. We are deeply grateful for the continued support and generosity of our teachers, students, families, community, and school leadership team. Thank you for helping us raise funds for our school to benefit our students.
