You’re Invited! Join us for Hudson Montessori’s 2026 Social Studies Fair

Hudson Montessori School is getting ready to open its doors to our friends and neighbors for our annual Social Studies Fair, and this year’s event promises to be one of our most vibrant yet!

On Saturday, May 9, 2026, the community is invited to experience the 17th Annual Social Studies Fair and Street Carnival. Our students prepare for months to transform the school into a living, breathing “museum” of exploration. This year’s theme, Tapestry of Cultures, weaves together stories, traditions, and environments from around the world into an immersive, school-wide showcase.

Each of our classrooms becomes a curated gallery, designed and brought to life entirely by students and teachers. From floor-to-ceiling installations to interactive, hands-on exhibits, each space offers a unique take on cultures from around the globe. Visitors can travel across continents without ever leaving the building, exploring topics like Indigenous Peoples, Storytelling Across Cultures, Mountain and Desert Cultures, Ports and Waterways, and more. Other exhibits focus on countries from Brazil and Colombia to India and China, Kenya and South Africa, and beyond to the Polynesian and Caribbean Islands.

The fun-filled day extends beyond our classrooms. The 50 Regent Building will feature a dedicated art and STEAM exhibition showcasing our school’s commitment to creativity and innovation.

Outside, the celebration continues with a lively street carnival atmosphere. Families can enjoy food trucks, face painting, balloon art, and entertainment, along with community tables that bring together local organizations. A museum gallery quest game adds an extra layer of excitement, inviting guests of all ages to explore, engage, and win fun giveaways along the way.

Hudson Montessori School, located in downtown Jersey City, serves children from ages 2 through 8th grade. The teachers use an interdisciplinary, theme-based learning approach grounded in Montessori philosophy and methodology to foster students' love of learning. Its STEM-certified campus is the only one of its kind in New Jersey, featuring STEM-certified teachers who meet the highest standards set by the National Institute for STEM Education.
